Federico Winer: Second Wave of Popular Governments in South America: Domestic, Regional, and International Struggles in the Post Pandemic Period
Federico Winer is a professor of the University of Buenos Aires with a backgrounds in Political Science, Philosophy and The Arts. He studied political science at the Faculty of Social Sciences and earn his position as adjunct professor at the Law School in 2002, where he leads two courses: Theory of the State and Philosophy as Politics. He directed, co-directed and participate in several research projects in the fields of political theory, political philosophy, philosophy of the law, aesthetics and the crossroads of politics, philosophy and the arts.
He was invited to give lectures in universities in Spain, the US, Croatia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Argentina. He was selected by the Friedrich Nauman Stiftung in 1995 for the Theodore Heuss Academy and is Fulbright Alumni for the University of Massachusetts in 2009.
In the intersection of Art and Academy, Federico is the founder of the Experimental Group Soy Cuyano. A multidisciplinary team of intellectuals and scientists exploring the relationship between philosophy, sciences, and the arts. The group has performed more than 30 “academic shows” in Argentina, the US, and Spain. They have published the book Programatta Inducativa Nuova, now in its 5th edition.
In 2015 Federico creates the acclaimed satellite art project Ultradistancia converting satellite imagery into a new aesthetic cartography. Ultradistancia experiments with the boundaries between travel, photography, geography, and digital art. Ultradistancia was published by the most prestigious international media, and exhibited and collected all over the world. The project was invited by Google and is part of the new Google Earth since 2017.
