DESCRIPTION:

Introduction to political science: approaches is mandatory course for students of political science and it is an introduction to the theoretical structure of the phenomenon of politics. The students will be introduced to the main theoretical and methodological positions in the discipline. Upon finishing the course the students will be able to make a distinction between two definitions of the political: the political as a set of political institutions and processes characteristic for behavioralism, rational choice theory and institutionalism and a wider understanding of the political as a struggle for power in all spheres of life (characteristic for marxism, feminism, etc). The course acknowledges the methodological pluralism in the discipline
