DESCRIPTION:

An introduction to international politics - the first touch for most students with IR. The course is structured in three parts: a) theories of IR, b) international organizations and c) topics in IR. The course offers introduction to five main IR theories (Realism, Liberal Theories, Constructivism, Marxist Theories and Theocratic Approaches). It then moves on to international organizations (UN, EU and NATO). In its third part we discuss topics and issues in international politics, such as: sovereignty, security, international law, identity etc. The course is offered to first and second year undergraduates, and it is elective (non-compulsory).
