Márton Demeter: Internationalization of Higher Education and Academic Research in Central and Eastern Europe. Experiences in Communication Studies and Beyond
Dr. Márton Demeter is an Associate Professor and a Head of Department at the Department for Science Strategy at the National University of Public Services, Hungary. He is also a Bolyai Research Fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His works have been widely published in leading periodicals such as International Journal of Communication and Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly.
His lecture on the internationalization of higher education and academic research in Central and Eastern Europe will deal with the specific historical position of the region and its academic community regarding Western Europe and the particular hurdles and burdens faced by scholars from this region. Professor Demeter will also provide policy proposals and solutions for increased international visibility and impact of researchers from Central and Eastern Europe.
